Today is here! It's the first day of my next ironman season. Only 20 weeks to go! I'm excited about getting started again. Here's what it means:
- Early starts. Today I was up at 4:15am and packed for the cycle center by 4:47. I left the house at 5:01 and arrived by 5:15. I was finished and in the car by 6:52. Coffee by 7:05.
- Doubles. I didn't do a double today, but tomorrow and the next day and the day after that, I'll be doubling up: swim + run or bike + run or swim + bike.
- Pretty sunrises. I missed today's sunrise because I rode indoors, but the light on the marsh (on the way home) was so golden and it lit up the green trees around the marsh.
- Hot everything. Today was 93 degrees with a heat index of 105. The past two weeks have been windy and hot. Like a hair dryer blowing on me when I run or bike. Even the pool is hot. Last Thursday I swear it was 88. Eww.
It also means that in 130-some more days, I'm going to be an IRONMAN!
