It's my first rest day! And I am so ready for it. I still have the weekend for a long run and a long ride, but this week has proved tough. Here's what my schedule looked like this week:

Monday Bike: A 1h30m ride at the computrainer cycle center at 5:15am.  I did two sets of power based intervals and was finished by 6:52am.

Tuesday Swim & Run: I did 3500 yards at the pool with mixed intensity and followed it up with an easy 45 minute run. I also worked in some core work.

Wednesday Ride: Wednesday's ride was tough! A strength-based workout which meant intervals at a lower cadence and tougher gears.  I did get to jump in the pool at Dirty Spice's place afterwards.

Thursday Swim + Run + Pilates x 2: I couldn't bear the thought of the hot pool so I went for a swim in Banks Channel. Erica and I swam 1.7 miles from north to south. It wasn't as cool as I had wished for, but the current was moving and I pushed my pace. I ran afterwards and although it was prescribed as an easy run, I couldn't help mixing in some speedplay. I would keep it under 9:00/mile for a count of 1-2-3-1-1-2-3-2-1-2-3-4 to 20 then rest for 20. Count to 30, rest for 30. I finished my 100 and then pushed myself to finish fast. It was great mental practice.

I also did pilates twice yesterday. I had my private session with some real work on balance, arms and legs and then I taught a class. Since my legs were shaking still from my private lesson, I avoided the leg work. But, I made sure I worked on my core and threw in a couple of pushups.

Phew! I'm ready to sit on the beach and adapt to all that training.
