I ran in New York City. I ran in Central Park. I didn't even know it was on my bucket list until I did it. JenniSunshine and I rode the CitiBikes from the Meatpacking District north to Central Park along the greenway, ditched the bikes and ran about four miles.
It wasn't fancy or fast. We didn't know where we were headed but wanted to hit up the reservoir and the bow bridge (it was closed). We did run up to the Belvedere Castle and I did one fast loop around the reservoir - trying to keep up with another runner at a 7:50 pace. I stayed with him for about half a mile before he peeled off and I got lazy. We discovered the Ramble arch and stopped at the Bethesda Terrace and fountain (smelled like pee).
I also walked in New York City. I'm pretty sure we walked at least two miles for the three days we were there - in addition to the two miles to and from the concerts. I felt fit when we returned and think I benefited from taking time off from building intensity.
